Petition: Stop Animal Abuse in the European Tourism Industry

To the Honorable Members of the European Parliament,

We, the undersigned, draw your attention to a distressing situation that deeply concerns many European citizens: the mistreatment and poor living conditions of animals in the tourism industry. As elected representatives of the European people, we urgently request you to take concrete measures to end this animal suffering and enforce the existing laws regarding animal protection within the tourism industry.

The tourism industry, which attracts millions of visitors to Europe each year, must not be a breeding ground for animal abuse and neglect. We have been alarmed by recurring reports of inadequate living conditions in zoos, circuses, tourist attractions, and animal rides. These innocent creatures are forced to live in confined spaces with limited access to water and proper nutrition.

The consequences of this animal exploitation are devastating. Animals suffer immensely, both physically and mentally, due to the poor living conditions they endure. Furthermore, their exploitation in unsuitable environments, often subjected to constant stress, leads to severe health issues, such as exhaustion, dehydration, and heatstroke, putting their lives at risk and sometimes until death.

As political institutions of the European Parliament, we bear the responsibility to protect the lives and well-being of all living beings that share our planet. We, therefore, implore you to take firm action to ensure strict compliance with existing animal protection laws within the tourism industry. This involves implementing regular and rigorous inspections to enforce animal welfare standards and imposing severe sanctions on those who violate these laws.

We also urge you to actively support ethical and sustainable alternatives within the tourism industry by promoting initiatives that prioritize biodiversity preservation and respect for all living beings, both human and non-human.

Lastly, we request your efforts in launching awareness campaigns to educate European citizens about the realities of animal exploitation in the tourism industry. Collective awareness is essential to create a society that rejects animal abuse and embraces practices that prioritize animal welfare.

By signing this petition, we earnestly implore the European Parliament to take concrete action to put an end to animal abuse in the European tourism industry. We hope that you will give urgent attention to this matter and take decisive actions to protect animals and ensure their well-being in all tourism-related activities.

We sincerely thank you for your attention and commitment to animal protection.

Respectfully,
