Donkeys may not show obvious signs of thirst and will maintain appetite even when dehydrated.
250kg donkey at maintenance needs to drink 10-22.5 litres of fresh water each day at rest.
These requirements may vary depending on the diet and will be significantly increased during warm weather and during lactation.
